You are assured of a tranquil break at historic Leny House
our family-run baronial country mansion
set in its own beautiful parkland just to the west of Callander
within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

Built in 1513 as a fortified house after the original Leny Castle burned down, Leny House has featured in much of the history of Callander, including the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion when it was used as a 'Bed & Breakfast' by Bonnie Prince Charlie's troops! |
Following its recent refurbishment in close consultation with Historic Scotland, Leny House now offers superior quality accommodation for up to 8 guests. Carefully selected antiques, tapestries and Victorian prints add to the baronial atmosphere. |

![]() Grand staircases are a feature typical of David Bryce - the architect of the 1845 addition to the house - and this one is no exception especially with its skylight overhead flooding the hall with light creating a perfect setting for the tapestries and grand piano. |
Relax in the drawing room which offers views over lawns to the mountains and glens of The Trossachs. Or snuggle by the open fire, sip a dram of your favourite tipple and enjoy a cosy end to the day. |

Guests can choose from three comfortable Victorian bedrooms (3 double and 1 twin) one of which has a 4 poster bed and the original cast iron fireplaces in working order. The Blue Room is the most spacious of the bedrooms and is perfect for that special occasion. |
All the bedrooms have touch button heating, and an en-suite bath or shower room that is fitted to the highest standard in Victorian style complemented by thick, fluffy towels to wrap yourself in. |
The ornate brass bed in The Summer Room once graced the Master Bedroom in a major Scottish castle. All our antiques throughout Leny House have been carefully chosen to recreate the pampered luxury of a more leisured era. |
We offer a full traditional breakfast and in addition there are several unusual dishes to try. All are presented with care and imagination and cooked to your order. The Breakfast Room is home to the vast mahogany bookcase dating from the reign of King George III. The unique brass and bronze working fireplace has intricate designs and features and is set into a gold mantle surround of Italian Sienna marble. |

Comments from some of our guests
- One day I came out onto the sun deck and surprised a dozing pheasant.
- It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and see deer grazing right under our window.
- It was so quiet a setting we really felt refreshed and rested.
- I have never slept so well in years.
- We never imagined that this part of Scotland was such a beautiful mixture of stunning mountains, glens and lochs.
- It was good to enjoy stillness of the estate but then go to the estate pub and join in the ceilidh music in the evening.

Places to Visit
There is an abundance of castles, ancient monuments, museums, gardens and historic battlegrounds to explore in the area. Leisure cruises on nearby Loch Katrine on the vintage steamer 'Sir Walter Scott' are a fine way to enjoy the natural beauty of The Trossachs. Several whisky distilleries are close by to tempt the connoisseur.
Lade Inn
For meals and entertainment, we recommend the award-winning Lade Inn which is a cosy, friendly Highland pub and restaurant on the estate. It serves fine ales, mature malt whiskies and good, hearty food in traditional Scottish surroundings - all with a warm, Scottish welcome. What more you could want?
